Women's Martial Arts Classes
Most major martial arts gyms now run women's-only classes or sessions. Here's how to find them in your city.

What to look for in any city
- Women in the class — including upper belts. A solo woman in a class of men is usually a sign to look elsewhere.
- Coach attention to pairing and to how new students are treated.
- Women's-only classes, open mats, or self-defense sessions if you'd prefer that environment to start.
- A zero-tolerance culture around rough or disrespectful behavior.
